Purple Space Marine Balistus Dreadnought stood on a barren soil base. The dreadnought is a bipedal robot with its arms replaced with a pair of lascannons on its right and a missile launchers on its left. The centre of the body has a golden eagle and a scroll saying Eored, and the it’s right shin has a scroll saying FAITH.

Brother Eored reporting for duty.

This is my first dreadnought/vehicle, and it's taken a lot longer than I expected. The base still needs some work, and I’ve only just now spotted the white spot in the lascannon barrel 🤣, but overall I'm very pleased with it.

My first games of Warhammer 40k

12 Space Marines stood in two ranks. From left to right there’s a Terminator Librarian in dark blue armour with gold trim. His right hand is behind him holding and axe and his right hand is upheld and glowing blue. There’s then a squad of 5 Infernus Marines, there are all in purple and gold armour, with the Sergeant having a red helmet. They are all holding a flame thrower, the Sergeant has his strapped behind him and is throwing a grenade. Next is a Captain in Terminator armour. He is in purple and gold armour and is stood on the corpse of a Tyranid and some rocks. He has a gun in his left hand and a sword in his right. To the right of him is a squad of 5 Terminators in purple and gold armour. These have white helmets except the sergeant who has a red helmet with white stripe. The non-Segargent models have guns and powerfits, while the Sergeant has a gun and a sword.

Completed the combat patrol part of my leviathan box. Feels good to finally have a playable force ☺️

I think the basing still needs some love, but I'm happy enough with it for now. I also really need to improve my photography set up 🤣

Four Warhammer 40k Terminator models. The leftmost is a Librarian in dark blue armour with gold trim, in his right hand is a ax, his left hand is held upwards and glowing blue. His armour also has several mutlicololured tubes. The other three models are in purple and gold armour. The righ centre model of these three is a captain stood on a the corpse of a Tyranid. The rightmost model is wearing a red helmet with a white stripe and the other model has a white helmet.

Two more completed Terminators, their Librarian and their Captain. That Captain sculpt looks soooo good.

I need to finish some small details and get some decals on them. But for my first non-test paint scheme unit, I'm very pleased.

I'm not sold on the bases. Might try to make it more sand coloured.

Ballistus dreadnought. The dreadnought is stood on its two legs with one foot on a raised rocky outcrop. The left hand weapon is a pair of long barrelled laser weapons and the right hand weapon is 8 missiles in a grid in a housing.

With this dread, the Space Marine half of Leviathan is complete (25/72 total).

This dread is awesome. I can't wait for the pose-able kit to come out.

10 Infernus Marines from the Warhammer 40k universe stood in two ranks of 5. All models carry a pyre blaster which is a flame weapon that is shaped like a gun, has a pilot light at the front with the barrel protected by a perforated housing. The front center model has a pyre blaster on their back and is throwing a grenade. The model to the right of that also has a pyre laser on their back and is wielding a large knife and a pistol. The other 8 models are holding the pyre blaster in front of them with both hands in various positions.

10 Infernus Marines done (24/72 total)

I like these much more now I've seen them in person. Only the dread to go and that’s the Space Marine half complete 🥳

5 of the new larger Warhammer 40k terminator space marine models with a homing beacon in front. They have assortment of weapons with most carrying dual barrelled weapons. One has a large barrelled mini-gun style weapon and one is carry a sword. The homing beacon looks like a missile that’s landed and lodged in the ground.

The new launch box looks awesome. Some nice glow-ups and new models there. I think the Tyranids have the better half of the box, but that new dreadnaught looks really nice.

5 space purple space marines in a line with variations of accent colours. The purple is a middle brightness and appears warm, leaning more red than blue. The trim of the armour is gold. From left to right the variations are: White pauldrons with a white backpack and red weapons. Purple backpack, white pauldrons and white weapons. Purple backpack, purple pauldrons and back weapons. Black backpack, purple pauldrons and black weapons. And black backpack, purple pauldrons and black weapons. The models are sat on black bottle caps on top of a blue plastic lid.

Continuing to experiment with accent colours for my purple space marines.

I'm not a fan of the white backpack, but the full purple marine looks much better now I've done some highlighting.

5 mostly painted assault intercessor space marines. They are painted in various shades and tones of yellow. From left to right they go from a orange yellow to a very cold yellow. They are accented with black trim. The centre one has a red icon on their chest. The models are sat on a blue platform with a white background.

Trying out some yellow recipes for a potential Imperial Fists army. Painting black next to yellow is _very_ scary.

I'm holding a half-painted Warhammer 40k Assult Intercessor Space Marine. The main armour has been painted in a pink-purple colour. The backpack, shoulder pads and weapons are unpainted and white. The base is unpainted and is on a black bottle cap. My hand is in the bottom of the frame with some purple and green paint on the nail. The background is white parchment.

Got about an hour of painting done today. Still trying out some colours for my space marines. I'm still leaning towards the purple but want to try a darker one, as this is still a little too pink for me. Though shading and that should help.

Hats off to any Salamanders players; warpstone glow is a frustrating paint to work with. It's still patchy after 3 coats.

Finished reading: The Devastation of Baal by Guy Haley 📚

4/5 - Excellent book, the descriptions of both the Blood Angles and Tryranids are amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone who's a fan of either faction (or space marines and Warhammer in general).
